I kind of wish I was getting braces, but watching Angela it doesn't look like too much fun. She will be a little more festive for the Fourth of July and the 24th of July because she had them put on red and blue on her braces. I can't believe how much braces continue to go up in price. It is a good thing that all of my kids haven't needed them. I wish that insurance companies would pay for adults to get braces. I would love to have straight teeth and my whole life dentists have told me that I would have to have an operation and have my jaw broken to straighten my teeth but this orthodontist tells me he could do it without an operation. Maybe some day I will be rich and be able to have straight teeth.
Hang in there Angela and try to enjoy all of the ice cream and treats. I am sure that it will get old very soon. Before you know it you will have straight teeth and be glad that you do.

come on Kathy let them do your Jaw. It is soooo much fun. Don't you remember what I good time I had and how thin I got when I had my jaw done. Who needs a diet?
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, I remember how awful that was!!!!!!!! Come with us to ice cream land, she'll be in heaven! :)
I never had them but my niece just got hers on. Yep, pretty painful.
She looks so miserable. But an ice cream diet doesn't sound so bad to me :)
I remember that first week I had braces. It was so painful. Hopefully she wont be in pain to long.
Yeah, I remember the first week or so of having braces. OUCH! They just tore up the inside of my mouth. It really hurt. And then everytime I had to adjust my rubber bands, it hurt.
Too bad I was too young to appreciate the service those braces and rubberbands were doing to my mouth!!! Kids take the expense and blessing for granted. Oh well. I hope that she heals up quickly!
My mom told me once that the only time she ever saw her sister cry was when she would have her braces tightened. I hope the pain goes away soon. Clove oil is wonderful for numbing pain in the mouth and gums, maybe you could try that.
Kelley got the flu one time and my doctor told me to get her a big fat SMOOTHIE because it was easy to eat, with a LOT of calories. I'm sure you could make them at home too. I like to add Wheat Germ for texture, but that also adds calories and nutrients. You could also try protein powder probably. Our insurance paid for Joey to get braces when I worked for the state. We had to pay I think half of it, which was I think $2000, but they let us pay it off over a few years and it was defintely worth it for us!
Aww, poor Ang!
But good for you for making the sacrifice so your children don't have to feel the way you do as an adult. I really wish Joel's parents had done that. Someday we'll fix his teeth, but who knows when because it will be a lot of money.
I fell so bad she is in so much pain.
but once the pain goes away she will be her self again.
eek!! I never had them so i have no clue what she is going through but it makes me cringe to think that my little man will have this problem in about 5 years!! His will be worse though.. he has a extreme underbite!! He will actually start with orthdental work in about 2 years with his jaw.. he will get a spacer put in when he gets his first "adult" molar..
Ouch! She looks like she is in a lot of pain. Hope she gets used to them soon.
Dang girl, I feel sorry for you but at the same time I am so happy for you. Things will be straighter and you will be loving your teeth when you get older. Besides now that you have your learners permit life is all better and you have different things to be thinking about. Like Stop signs and sidewalks.
