Week in Mesquite

This week is Spring Break for me. It has been full of many fun things, but I sure need a day to just rest.

This week started out by Mike and I going to SLC and staying overnight and just spending time together. We also had a chance to go and see my family and his parents. It was nice to just visit and also to spend time away for a day or two.

I spent Friday all day shopping in St. George with Karrilyn. It was nice. She also really needed a break and there is no place to shop here that is for sure. In the evening we had some friends over for homemade ice cream. It was very delicious. Mike makes the best homemade ice cream and carmel.

Today we have spent the entire day going to Manti. It was a long day but well worth it. We were able to go and do a session at the Manti LDS temple. It is so gorgeous not just on the outside but inside too. I always gain so much by taking time to go to the temple. The only bad part was spending the entire day in the car.

Tomorrow, is Sunday. Yeah, I just wish that I could just take it easy all day. Tomorrow night we will be going to the Draper Temple dedication that is being put on at our stake center. I am excited because all of our kids will be going except for our youngest.

On Monday morning I will be driving to Mesquite. What is there to do there???? I will be spending four days there with everyone that is in the block at SUU with me. We have rented a condo and will be observing at some of the schools there. It is part of our curriculum.

How do you think my family will do without me?? I have never been gone this long without my husband going on a trip with me. It will be interesting.

Have any of you been to Mesquite and if so is there anything fun to do besides gambling? I hope that I will end up having an ok time. It is going to be strange being with all 20 year olds. I hope that I fit in ok and that we can find something fun to do.

I will be back Thursday night so don't panic if I don't post until then. Wish me luck.

Have fun this week! It has been a very busy week for you. I haven't been to the Manti Temple. And the homemade ice cream sounds delicious.

Oh I wish I were going too.

My great great grandfather CCA Christianson, did some of (or all I can't remember) the murals in the Manti temple and I've never been inside to see them!!! Can you beleive it!?!

Have fun.

I've only driven through Mesquite, so I have no tips. Maybe relax by the pool?

There are pools, hot tubs, movies, bowling, mini-golf, go karts, and that's about all that I know of. The Virgin River Casino is where the bowling alley is and a movie theater. The mini golf and go karts are at the Oasis. Hope this helps.

Better rest up while in Mesquite, cause I'm pretty sure you'll be repairing a lot of damage when you return home (ha, ha).

Have fun! I love the Manti temple. I have a week away at Girls camp coming up in July. And I may have a week before that on a Pioneer trek...maybe.

Oh how fun!!! I love the Manti Temple!! It's the temple we're assigned to go to, even though it's 2 hours away from me. So beautiful!

Oh heavens ... you are brave. Do you golf? The only thing I hear of in Mesquite is golfing and going to the spa when you stay at their casinos. I vote for golfing! (Although a spa ... hmmmm ... nice)

Just emerging from blog-hibernation and stopped by to say thanks for commenting on my last post (nearly a month ago). I know - I'm a slacker! I visited someone who lives in a trailer park in Mesquite once. Sorry, don't know what else there is to do there, but hope you find some fun!

I hope you have a good time. Good luck with being away from your fam. It is not easy to do when you never do it. But you will have fun and yes they will all miss you deeply. You will fit in perfectly with the 20 year olds because you are so young at heart. I went to Mesquite one time and we went golfing which seemed like the only other thing to do then gambling. But you don't want to know what else I did when I was there. Well love ya sis it was nice to see you the other day thanks for stopping by. I am not even sure you will get this post with so many comments on your blog you probably will never get to me but remember I loved ya first.

Thanks for your sweet comment. I hope you are having fun in Mesquite. I don't gamble, but the sunshine would be enough entertainment for me. We have had snow all week. And we are all tired of it! And I love, love, love the Manti Temple! It is where I got married after all:)
