Where all dreams come true

We are so excited for this week to come. We have had reservations for a couple of months now to take our kids and go to Disneyland. We weren't going to go this year and go somewhere else but we have received a great deal because my husband is in the military. (one we can't refuse)
We all need a break and a vacation. That song " I Need a Vacation" comes to my mind.

We are planning on going to the beach, the Newport Beach temple and Disneyland for three days. My kids are getting older and I thought that they wouldn't be as excited to go but they just love Disneyland or any theme park for that matter, so they are quite excited. We are driving which won't be as fun as flying but we can get there in about 7 hours, so that isn't too bad.

I am going to need to get some healthy snacks, because we usually have junk food on these trips and I don't want to gain back the weight that I have just lost. I usually makes cookies, buy chips and drinks, but I am not planning on doing that. It will be hard to eat like I have been doing so if any of you have ideas, let me know. It is always hard to watch what you are eating when you are on vacation, because you should be able to splurge, right???
Have you been to Disneyland or Disney World?? What is your favorite part or favorite ride?
Like my kids say" I'm going to Disneyland."

Take fruit and vegetables all cut up in zip-lock baggies. I also like crackers, cheese, and pretzels.

Most important just have a great time with your family!

I was teasing Angela about how many times you've gone to Disneyworld/land lately! Especially since she got to go with the band! I'm jealous! :)

Have so much fun!

I agree, bring your own snacks. Also you can get the glow neckalces and stuff to pack in rather than buying them there.

If there's a parade you want to see throw down a blanket ahead of tiem so you get a good spot:)

Enjoy!!

Splurge on new clothes for your svelte self. Leave the cookies on the shelf (unless they have duck eggs in them.)

Have so much fun.

That sounds so fun--I'd love to know where you got your military discount, as we may be going in October!

I suggest: sunflower seeds, dried papaya, apples, almonds, carrot sticks, and Nature Valley peanut butter granola bars. :)

I grew up about an hour from Disneyland, so went quite a few times as a kid. Last time I went I was 16, it has changed so much since then, I've always liked the haunted mansion ride though, and Pirates of the Caribbean ride!

We recently took our teenage children to Disneyland for the first time. It was a blast. I don't have any suggestions for snacks. We didn't do well in that department but I felt like we burned it off.
Let the kids really get into it. That's my advice. Have fun! It was magical!

Have fun! I've never been to Disneyland.

Maybe celery and carrots and lots of dried apples?

I'd say nuts, but even though they are healthy fat & calories they are surprisingly high in fat and calories.

I hope you have a really good vacation!!!

Snacks? Almonds and dried apricots.
Disney Land? And California Adventure. Last summer. You have to go on Soarin' Over California. Seriously worth the wait.

I love Disneyland!!! Luvpilot is against going this year, but I think I may have to sneak the boys over. I love the Tower of Terror. I giggle the whole time.

The dieting part will be tricky. Easy to find something somewhat healthy in a restaurant, but you're right about the snacking, that part will be hard. Good luck! I hope you don't gain it back.

{I'm down 14 now and have 6 days until I'm on the maintenance part. Today and yesterday have actually not been bad. I think I'm finally used to it. The hard part will be when I have to make cookies for preschool graduation this week. I make some pretty darn good cookies!}

it'll kill your diet, but there is a fudge shop on main street in disneyland that has fudge to die for. just think of it this way, with all the walking you'll be doing, you can have a treat or two :)
also, wheneven i travel to cali i put a cooler in the car to keep all my travel snacks in. like juice and carrots and cheese and crackers. and if you do have to stop by some fast food, remember most have "healthy" choices now.
have tons of fun!
can't wait for my babies to be bog enough to take to disneyland.

Oh I am so very jealous. I know you guys will have so much fun. I wish I could take my kids again this summer but it won't be happening. Good luck with the diet on vacation that just doesn't work so well for me. Just remember nuts are good for you and diet dp. isn't so bad crystal light has little packets you can pour in 16 oz bottles those are always nice. But good luck! Love you guys and be safe!
