Many changes in our world as we know it!!

Yesterday, at church we had our Primary program. It was awesome. This year it was definitely a little different than it usually is during the program. They split our ward. (In the LDS church if there are too many people in your ward then they split the ward so that there are fewer people in each ward)
They have been talking about it for a long time and they finally did it. I was pretty teary eyed during the program because it was so spiritual and because I was thinking about all my friends that I will miss. When a ward is split, people always say that they will keep in touch but it hardly ever happens.
This is the second time that they have split our ward since we have lived here. The last time they split it I was serving a RS president and it was about 2 1/2 yrs ago. I know that it is important to split a ward that gets so big because it is so hard for the bishopric and other leaders to be able to attend to everyone, but I have made some great friends that have been split off that I will truly miss.

I think it is even harder for me because while I was serving I gained such a strong love for the sisters in our ward, and I still have that feeling like they are part of us. It will be so different without some of them in our ward. I thought the split was a little crazy, it is amazing what they can do to boundaries to put people where they want to. I was surprised how hard it was on my daughter Angela. She is having a hard time because she has had some really great YW leaders and they have been great friends to her. It is always hard to lose people that care about you. To all of my friends that are going to be in the other ward, I will miss you. Thanks for all of your friendship and support in all I do.

I also am not sure about our change in presidency for our government. It is truly a day of history in our country when a black man becomes the president. I am glad to say that I am willing to support him and give him a chance to be a president. I hope our country will willing accept him and give him a chance to see what we have elected and hopefully he will be an ok president to help get us out of some problems that our country is in at this time. We will see.

Yah, I agree with you that usually, when a ward splits, you say your going to keep in touch with your friends that get moved into the other ward but it hardly ever happens. I'm going to do my best to keep in good contact with all the cool people now in the Cross Hollow Ward. We're "GLAD" we still have you guys in the ward! ha ha ha

We will keep in touch! Don't worry, and since only 3 young women came over to the new ward (and apparently only about 6 from the other split), I will be keeping Angela at the top of my sitter's list! The girls love her anyway, and would hate to lose her.

Also, Joel told Reuben we're having a split luau, and you're on the list for an invite. I'll let you know.

Did they split the ward and do the primary program on the same day? That would be utter chaos huh? You need to start a lunch bunch of all the people you want to stay connected to and go to lunch once a month. We have done that a couple years ago. It really works!

I am hoping to be able to keep in touch with people in the Cedar Meadows ward now that I am in the Cross Hollow Ward. I have never been part of a split before and I was having a very hard time yesterday, I am going to miss my primary kids so much, and I just got the calling to teach the cooking with food storage class and only had the opportunity to teach one class before being released from all my callings Sunday. I was pretty teary-eyed too, I'm just glad I was able to get my emotions under control before I had to go sit on the stands in front of everyone with my Primary class.

I agree that it will be sad not to see you every Sunday, but we only live across the street form each other, and I count you as such a great friend. I so appreciate that you made me feel so welcome when we moved here. You are wonderful!!

I thought the split was kind of crazy. They took all of the homes to the west of 4200 w, which is right by my house and then all of the apartments that are west of that street and then down to all of the homes where Makayla used to live and put them with the homes that are around the stake center. Everyone else is still in our ward.

That is the nice thing though about blog world though...it's easy to keep up on the news, even if you don't see each other on a weekly basis...
